What does an alarm system cost?
A wireless system for an apartment starts at around €1,500, a detached house at around €2,500 including installation. The scale is open at the top: outdoor protection, cameras, access control, perimeter and monitoring centre are added depending on the property; for company sites and estates we quickly talk about five-figure sums. The planning tool gives a first assessment in a few minutes, we name the fixed price after the site visit.
Can an alarm system be retrofitted without laying cables?
Yes. Ajax works with wireless detectors that run for up to seven years on one battery. Nothing is chiselled open, installation usually takes one day. For new buildings and large properties there is also the wired Fibra line.
What happens in case of an alarm?
You immediately receive a push notification with photos from the triggering detector. On request the alarm goes in parallel to an emergency and service monitoring centre that dispatches an intervention team or notifies the police.
Does the system work during a power cut or when the internet is down?
Yes. The hub has a battery for up to 16 hours and communicates via Ethernet, Wi-Fi and two SIM cards. If one channel fails, the next takes over. The detectors run on batteries anyway.

With two locations in Kronberg im Taunus and Bad Dürkheim: in the Rhine-Main area with Frankfurt, Hochtaunus, Main-Taunus, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Darmstadt and Offenbach, and in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region with Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, Heidelberg, Speyer and the Palatinate. We accompany projects for companies with several sites throughout Germany, in Austria and in Switzerland on request.
